A little monogram goes a long way

Being from the South, I'm a firm believer in monogramming EVERYTHING.
In the words of the wonderful Reese Witherspoon
"My Sheets are monogrammed, so is my silverware and pretty much everything else I own. My rule is, if it's not moving...monogram it"
So it is no shock to people that i have everything from Monogrammed necklaces, to pillows, to my backpack and scarf. So when I came across this cute blog forchicsake.com with the help of Pinterest, I discovered the adorable Printable Monogram calendars and fell in love!

For free, you can just insert your own Monogram, and voila! You have an adorable one month calendar that you can post on a cork board, and it will be just as quirky, preppy and adorable as it is usable. Well, maybe not entirely usable due to lack of ahem, space. But it is super cute to look at and ads a pop of color and charm to any cork board!

Hope y'all enjoy this little slice of monogrammed adorableness! It also comes in different colors!

Miss America 2012

So, Miss South Carolina 2012, is none other than one of my beautiful ADPi sisters, although she does go to Clemson (Rivals at apart, sisters at heart). Ali Rogers has represented the state of South Carolina with class, elegance, grace, and just unselfish love. And not to mention that she's absolutely STUNNING! So go vote vote vote!

into the top 15 for the Miss America competition!

Stacks on Stacks on Stacks

So, like many of you, I love layering my bracelets with my watches... and what did I ask for for Christmas if not a ton of cute, non expensive bracelets to layer with! Some people knew what "layering bracelets" were, others (like my boyfriends mother), did not.
Regardless, on a recent trip to Greenwood, South Carolina, I stopped at my usual, and the only real boutique in Greenwood to see what I could find.

And I was quite delighted by what I saw!
I've been seeing these dainty, sometimes colorful, and sometimes sparkly sideways cross bracelets all over the place and had NO idea where to find them... little did I know, they were quite inexpensive and absolutely adorable.

For $12.... yes $12, you can get these absolutely adorable cross bracelets! Call and order one for you or a friend. I promise, they are the PERFECT gift, and you'll end up wearing it with everything

It's a Charleston Winter

So, I'm from a small, beautiful little seaside town (yeah I just copied a Darius Rucker song...) called Charleston in South Carolina, where the weather seems to never care what season or month we're actually in, and it decides to do it's own thing.

Today, the second week of January, it was a beautiful 71 degrees outside. Yes, SEVENTY ONE. I, like many people, had NO idea what to wear. Most of my spring clothes were in storage and I can't really leave my house in my birthday suit, so I dug and dug and dug, and although I don't have a picture of what I wore, it was a little something like this...

Just a simple infinity scarf, a sweater, and some shorts are all you need!

I found a beautiful bright yellow infinity scarf that I had originally bought my mother but stole it because I loved it WAY too much, that I actually bought at American Apparel, which can actually be worn about a million and a half ways, a light, cream colored Free People sweater, and some navy blue J.Crew shorts with some gold Tory Burch flats.

Yes, I never thought that I would be wearing shorts in January, but it's the South. It's beautiful Charleston, and I can't complain. It was nice to not be in drab colors and jeggings for once!

Oh how I love Charleston winters...too bad it will probably be 50 degrees tomorrow....

Resolution Time!

So, with the new year starting, and the world not ending..(weird, I know!) Comes the new-ish resolutions. Of course mine is always the same....

1) I'm GOING to lose weight this year (this year I'll stick with it...promise)
2) Get all A's
3) ACTUALLY STICK WITH MY RESOLUTIONS

Alright, I know that by March I'll be so miserable that I'll have (just one!), donut, or brownie, or whatever delicious dessert Chef Tony makes... or scratch that, maybe by February? January 31st? Ugh.. However, I did come across this list on Stumble Upon (which is awesome if you haven't gone to stumbleupon.com do it now!) that can help you keep your new years resolution on track..sort of..

This list, which I found on.... http://warriorism.info/thingsyoucando.php contains 71 "life improvement" ideas... here are the first 53. Some you might roll your eyes at, but some are easier. And just with everything in life, the more you do them, the easier they will get!

So cheers to this finally being the year that you get on track with your resolutions!!

Good Luck!

Back to school back to school

So, in 4 day's I'll be headed back to school to finish off second semester of my sophomore year! It's crazy to think that I've been in school for 2 years already! But anyways, I just changed my major from biology to fashion merchandising......uhhhh yeah. Big difference. But I've never been this excited to get back to school! I've spoken with several advisors and they're making my transition pain free and I'm so ready to actually get into classes that I will enjoy rather than going in dreading all of my sciences classes and labs. Anyways, I'm excited to get back. Even though there is no football right now. Let's get that 4.0!
